Try a workout partner!

WorkoutBuddyAre you the kind of person that doesn’t like to do things alone?  I can relate, and tell you that healthy activities, especially ones that can easily be delayed with myriads of great sounding excuses, reach the top of the list.  And what activity is more excused away than daily exercise?

A fellow nurse is doing a community/population health initiative teaching and motivating about fitness partners.  Her program, “Accountabil-a-buddy”, is being piloted this July, 2015 at a community church.  My colleague hopes this initiative will spread throughout the community to other civic groups (religious and otherwise), businesses (pairing employees), and neighborhoods (neighbors, friends) to increase the fitness in her community.

Inspired by her, I write this post encouraging readers to get yourself a partner, get off that couch and out of that chair, and get active together!
